I have taught English for 16 years at IHS. I currently teach AP English Literature, and English 11. I can be reached anytime by email. I try to respond to all emails by the end of the working day. If you are interested in your student's grades I post them through the school website. Please check that site prior to contacting me about grades. My educational background is: Western Washington University, M.Ed; University of Washington, B.A. Journalism; University of Washington, B.A. English; North Seattle Community College, A.A. Social Sciences; Seattle University, Professional Certification. Previously I have worked as a musician, mental health counselor, pediatric intensive care coordinator, television and music event producer, writer, and carpenter. I have also written a novel - God's Country. Currently I am working on researching, promoting and teaching media literacy. I recently wrote a chapter for the National Council of Teachers of English book, "Creating Media-Rich Classrooms: New Approaches for Middle and Secondary Teachers." I also teach media literacy classes for Western Washington University's graduate teaching program. In my free time I play music, hike, mountain bike, and fly fish.
