Class Time will be a little different than you’re used to at school. The first reason is the seating. All desks will be located 3 feet apart and will have been cleaned before you arrive. Each student who enters will take an empty seat. There will be no moving around the classroom to check in with others, etc. This is to reduce the possibility of the spread of Covid. Once seated, the seat is yours for the period. Students are not to get up without permission, and will need to ask to go use the restroom. Students should prepare to bring their own water if possible, as water fountains are not in use.
As mentioned previously, we are trying to limit transitions as much as possible to reduce close contacts between students. Students are not required to wear masks outside during passing periods but it is strongly recommended, especially in crowded walking paths.
Bathrooms are another area where transmission rates could be higher. For this reason, depending on the size of the restroom, there are capacity limits of 1-2 students. This means that it is unlikely many students will be able to use the restroom during passing periods. Teachers are aware of this and will let students out of class to use the bathroom. However, students must be mindful that teachers will only let one person at a time out of the classroom, and they may have classmates that need to use the restroom as well.
Students may begin arriving on campus as early as 7:15 following the posted drop off routes listed. Once on campus, students may go to the cafeteria for breakfast, or to study until 1st period begins. Please allow ample time to adjust for traffic conditions, particularly the first few weeks of school as drivers will be adjusting to the new schedule. Students should also use extra caution in walkways, and parking lots during the busy morning hours. See below for drop off route and instructions for student parking.
