Graduation Readiness
Diploma Requirements
All students are required to earn 24.0 credits in order to graduate with their high school diploma.
Northshore students earn their 24.0 credits for graduation from 10 independent subject areas, as the chart below illustrates. Each subject area requiring a different credit amount.
In addition to their 24.0 credits, students are also required to complete:
- WA State History
- High School & Beyond Plan
- 2 State-Level Assessments* (Smarter Balance)
- SBA ELA = 2548
- SBA Math = 2595
*State-Level Assessments may also be met by completing a Graduation Pathway that aligns with the student's High School & Beyond Plan.*
OSPI & CTE Grad Pathways
A couple years ago, Washington State expanded how students could develop their course plans to demonstrate their preparedness for life beyond high school.
For more information on the variety of Pathways accessible for students students, please visit Graduation Pathways via OSPI.
At Inglemoor, we offer five CTE Pathways that students can build into their coursework over their four years.
Students must complete 2.0 credits from the same CTE Pathway in order to satisfy the Smarter Balance assessments needed for graduation.
High School & Beyond Plan
The High School and Beyond Plan is a graduation requirement for every student. It's a process for students, parents, and teachers to guide students through high school and think about their future. Plans are personalized and designed to help students set, visualize, and work to achieve goals. A High School and Beyond Plan is one of the three components, along with Credit and Subject Area Requirements, and Graduation Pathway Options, that Washington students must complete to achieve a high school diploma.
Naviance is a web-based system the Northshore School District uses for college and career readiness, college applications, and the High School and Beyond Plan. All students who are actively enrolled will already have an account. Parents do not have accounts, but can ask their students to share what they are doing in Naviance.
Naviance is part of the Clever Portal. When students login to their Clever account, there will be a Naviance icon/button under Learning Resources. Click on the Naviance icon/button to go directly into your Naviance account.
