About the Instructor
Geoffrey Gilmore, CSEP, NBCT, CTE
Geoffrey Gilmore currently teaches English & business courses at Inglemoor High School. He joined the staff in 1997. Previous to that time, he taught English, social studies, learning center classes and modern dance at Canyon Park Junior High School, starting in 1980. His teaching career commenced at Lincoln High School in East Los Angeles in 1977 where he taught junior and senior English and AP English.
Geoffrey attended California State University at Los Angeles where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in English in 1975 and a Masters Degree in Education with a focus on gifted education in 1980. He is also a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT).
Geoffrey is the proud owner of Geoffrey Gilmore Signature, LLC, an award winning event design/planning company. He is a member of the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC) and of the International Special Events Society (ISES). Geoffrey has earned the Professional Bridal Consultant designation from ABC and has earned the distinctive international Certified Special Event Professional (CSEP) designation from ISES.
He has served the ISES-Seattle Chapter as a founding board member, Vice President of Education, Secretary and Chapter President. In addition, he was one of three international nominee finalists for the ISES Esprit Award in the Creative Solutions category.
Geoffrey is the winner of the Applause Award for "Best Non-Profit Event under $25,000." He was one of ten national finalist for his innovative design of a couture dining table setting for the "The Special Event" Conference in Los Angeles. Added to his list of accomplishment are winner of the Applause Award for "Best Achievement in Logistics" and international winner of the ISES Esprit Award for "Best Industry Contribution." Recently, he won the Applause Award for "Best Wedding with a Budget between $25,001-$100,000" for two consecutive years.
Geoffrey has shared his expertise as a seminar presenter for regional special event conferences and as an author of a number of magazine articles for Special Events Magazine, Bizillion Magazine and Northwest Meetings & Events Magazine on weddings and event planning. Geoffrey currently serves on the advisory editorial board for the Northwest Meetings and Events Magazine and is a member of the Professional Education Advisory Committee for the South Seattle Community College's Career and Technical Education (CTE) program.
